A multinational technology company was preparing for the next phase of its regional expansion. As part of a broader leadership realignment, it sought to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer and Chief Business Officer to oversee operations and drive business development across Central Europe. We were brought in to support the final stage of the selection process with risk-focused assessments of the shortlisted finalists.
Client
A global technology firm with a major regional base in the Czech Republic and plans to expand further across Central and Eastern Europe.
Task
Assist in the final selection of two senior leadership roles, CEO and CBO, by reviewing the top three shortlisted professionals for each position. The objective was to identify potential integrity or reputational risks and support informed decision-making.
Solution
Thorough background review
We conducted in-depth research into each finalist’s professional and personal background, drawing on a wide range of sources including public records, legal and commercial databases, social media, and hard-to-access content from the deep web.
Field verification and stakeholder insight
To complement the desk research, we carried out discreet field inquiries with individuals familiar with the candidates. These conversations helped confirm key facts, clarify concerns, and provide additional context on leadership performance and affiliations.
Structured reporting for decision-makers
We delivered a detailed report for each profile, outlining qualifications, references, affiliations, and any associated risks. This provided a clear and reliable framework for final selection decisions.
Impact
Our findings led to the exclusion of one finalist due to reputational concerns not captured by standard screening. The client proceeded with full awareness of the potential risks, strengthening the integrity of its leadership appointments and supporting long-term strategic goals.
